history

Early Beginnings

Since 1984, Caribbean Publishing Company has been the leading publisher of print and online directories throughout the Caribbean.

Renamed Global Directories in 2002, the company came under the Bermuda-based MediaHouse umbrella and currently publish 17 print, online and mobile directories in partnership with independent telephone companies and other business organizations. Our Caribbean headquarters are in Grand Cayman.

Expanding Our Borders

In 2002 we found the shores of Bermuda to be limiting our ability to expand the business and we began publishing nine directories in the Caribbean: Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Montserrat, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Turks & Caicos, as well as the regional import-export directory, the Caribbean Yellow Pages.

Soon we were also producing the Aruba and Bonaire directories. By 2004, we added Grenada and Barbados and in 2006, we added Jamaica to our portfolio. For the last 3 years, we have provided our expertise and oversight to publish the Trinidad & Tobago directory. In 2014, we added Belize to our portfolio.

New Frontiers

As the methods of finding information changes, so do we. In 2004, we added Internet versions of all our directories and more recently added mobile access as well. While the print directories continue to have strong and growing usage we recognize the need to provide the same ability to connect buyers and sellers online.

We have introduced websites, video, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, Social Media and successfully partnered with Google to ensure that our customers have the same great return on investment that they have had for decades in the print Yellow Pages.

Mobile App

Our Mobile App brings find right at the consumer’s fingertips in a medium where they engage and interact daily .  The Mobile Yellow Pages App is available in all fourteen of our territories and completes our trinity of search products ensuring that at whatever time of the day, wherever the consumer is engaged and whatever they are doing once the need to search arise we are there to help them find.

Augmented Reality

In a world where print is always evolving our newest hybrid product Augmented Reality allows the print ad to come alive on any mobile device and is the next generation of consumer interactivity.  Augmented Reality marries the stability of the book with the flexibility of the digital sphere thereby enhancing the engagement of the user.

Hyperlocal Websites

In 2015, Global Directories launched Cayman.com to dynamically connect visitors and locals with Caymanian businesses, products and services through innovative technology with special emphasis on user generated content, video and a dedicated app.
